Grant Sullivan (June 30, 1924 - May 31, 2011) was an American actor best known for starring in the American television series, Pony Express.[1] Sullivan portrayed the investigator Brett Clark in Pony Express, which aired in syndication from 1959 to 1960.[1]
Sullivan was born in Nebraska, but raised in Southern California.[1] He attended schools in both Long Beach and Anaheim.[1] Sullivan served in the United States Navy during World War II> He enrolled at Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to study drama and then moved to New York City to pursue acting.[1]
Sullivan appeared in Broadway plays and productions before transitioning to television roles.[1] He was cast in the starring role of Brett Clark in the syndicated television series, Pony Express, which ran from 1959 to 1960.[1] Sullivan was trained to ride horses by stuntman and actor, Boyd Morgan, for the role.[1]
He left acting in the early 1970s and became a realtor.[1] He worked as a business executive for both Mission Viejo Co. and Great Western Real Estate until his retirement.[1]
Sullivan died at his home in Laguna Beach, California on May 31, 2011, aged 86, from cancer. [1] He was survived by his wife of 42 years, Valedia Sullivan.[1]
